CGH ANNOUNCEMENTS

CGH Director, Dr. Sofia Merajver, and CGH Associate Director, Dr. Rajesh Balkrishnan have recently published an article in the Harvard College Global Health Review-2012 (pg 50-52), titled Availability of essential medications for non-communicable and chronic diseases in low and middle income countries: A persistent and growing violation of human rights and potential solutions.

For any students planning to do any global health activities, this course in ethics and global health may be of interest to you.

Travel abroad, design a new technology and help tackle a global maternal or infant health challenge! Here is the chance to take full advantage of your upcoming senior design experience.

The Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies and the Center for Research on Learning and Teaching (CRLT) seek applicants for the thirteenth annual Seminar on Preparing Future Faculty designed to help prepare senior graduate students for their first faculty positions. The application deadline in Monday, February 6, 2012 at 4:00PM.

The Center for Global Health is proud to congratulate Student Associate, Connie Shi, for being the receipient of a highly competitive honorary Bardos scholarship to attend the Annual Meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research in 2012 and 2013. Connie will present her research and attend talks and network with fellow undergraduates and cancer researchers from all over the world.

CGH Associate Director, John Piette, PhD, will be participating in the upcoming UM Depression Center Colloquium Series. Dr. Piette is scheduled to speak on Friday, January 27, 2012, from 11:45AM - 1:00PM. You can register for Dr. Piette's talk on New Advances in Telepsychiatry here.

The Erb Institute for Global Sustainable Enterprise and the Union of Concerned Scientists will host a town hall discussion Jan. 20 titled Cures for Climate Confusion. The public is invited to participate. It will include thinkers and leaders from the media, academic institutions, religious centers, the private sector, and other fields.
